I was thinking about the next place that I move to....It seems that in England
it is just so important to aim for  a 'proper house' no matter how small or
uncharacterful it is....as long as it is a 'house'.  I do not fall into this category
and to be honest, I think will probably move into a couple more apartments
before I even contemplate a house - if ever!   I came across this very cute
apartment this morning, its a really great mix of old and new.  Its was built
in 1920 in Copenhagen by Jewish architects and is now home to a couple
with their three children....

Some eye candy from Copenhagen...

I went to Ikea to today to pick up some odds and ends
thought I might blog about some of their pieces that stand
out from the crowd...there are quite a few...

PS Rasken bench, designed by Anna Leckström

Svarva table lamp, designed by Front

Karljohan birch sidetable/stool, designed by Christian Halleröd

Bruse coffee table, designed by designed by Christian Halleröd

Alex drawer unit, designed by Johanna Asshoff

Bekvam step stool

PS tealight holder, designed by Ehlén Johansson

PS Vadmal blanket Kazuyo Nomura

My top picks from Ikea....

Here are some great shots of some nursery and children's rooms
that I'm totally inspired by - when the time comes(!)  I love
designing these rooms, they are my favourite room to work
with....my friend Lone in Denmark did such an amazing job
with her baby Embla's room....don't you agree?

Just how sweet are these nursery photos?

I have been having just the best time, cosy in my apartment this
beautiful grey afternoon trying to pick which drool worthy shots
to post from design duo, FriedaMaria's (Frieda Mellema and
Margo Maria) portfolio - I can tell you it was very hard to choose
and I'm sure you can see why....

Some drool worthy shots from FriedaMaria

Of course if it is sunny where you are then you will enjoy these also,
but it is raining here...which I kind of like...

The Bestlite, designed by Robert Dudley Best and now manufactured
by Danish company GUBI is one of the most beautiful, iconic lights
that I have ever seen and has been in production since the 1930's.  Best
and Lloyd (the lighting empire) were famed suppliers to the likes of the
Titanic and Orient express - which is kind of romantic and makes me
love it even more!

Peter Krasilnikoff has produced some amazing work shooting the Bestlite
in its many forms - oh and the rest of his portfolio is great too....enjoy...
