A bit of salvage...

One of my favourite things to do at the weekend is to browse around
architectural salvage shops and yards, looking for a gem in the rubble.
I went to a lovely place in Bath, UK this week and was totally inspired
by their lovely white, rustic space.  Here are a few shots for you to see...

Some Flickr finds for you today...

Another summer house....

Here are some beautiful shots of interior stylist Katarina Grunstömers
summer house.  As featured in Skona Hem this month, Katarina has
been renovating and enlarging this house to perfection since 2002 and
has filled it will a great collection of personal pieces....a huge difference
from the tiny little house with a loo in the garden!

Summer retreats

Oooh I just love Saturdays....sleeping til late, long leisurely breakfast and plenty of fresh coffee....mmmm.  I am also dreaming about my eventual summer retreat and wondering where it might be....

Here is some some of my inspiration - a simple, primitive and beautiful cabin on the Danish island of Zealand (no running water or computers...) where the owners can really escape their hectic lives and get back to nature (featured in Elle Decoration UK this month).

.....and a beautiful wooden cottage by the sea, not far from Copenhagen...in the woods or by the sea?....hmm decisions, decisions.....

Camping in France

So my boyfriend and I have just returned from a lovely escape to the
South of France where we set up house in the woods by the lake in
the very cool campsite Les Ormes.  We had a great time relaxing,
reading and of course eating yummy french food...

As you can see they have really made this place beautiful, they have
mixed up the styles perfectly - lots of Grey, which I love!  It was
such an inspirational place to stay.

St. Bartholomew’s Church

I just came across this church in the Czech Republic (designed by Jakub
Berdych from Qubus Studio) What a great mix of old and new!  I have
these chairs on my terrace but they look even more beautiful in this setting
with a cross punched into the back....and I love the Eames chairs that they
have put at the front for the clergy.
